2nd -3rd Grade Beginning Strings : Students will be measured for the correct size string instrument, a note will be sent home to parents regarding the correct size instrument to be obtained and information regarding the option of either renting a school instrument or obtaining one from a private source. Classroom expectations and goals will be reviewed.
3rd Grade Advanced Strings : Students will be measured for the correct size string instrument, a note will be sent home to parents regarding the correct size instrument to be obtained and information regarding the option of either renting a school instrument or obtaining one from a private source. In addition - students will practice and review music learned from last years instruction.Classroom expectations and goals will be reviewed. 3rd - 5th Grade Beginning and Advanced Keyboard : Students will be introduced to basic piano technique and a letter will be sent home regarding the need for students to have a keyboard at home to practice on. Piano students having at least one year of instruction will work independently on appropriate material.Classroom expectations and goals will be reviewed. 3rd Grade Harp : Students will be introduced to basic technique of holding the harp, plucking and note reading. Classroom expectations and goals will be reviewed. 4th Grade: Opera Boot Camp begins. 5th Grade Strings : Students will review basic string technique and posture as well as review previously learned music. Students will be measured for the correct size string instrument, a note will be sent home to parents regarding the correct size instrument to be obtained and information regarding the option of either renting a school instrument or obtaining one from a private source. Classroom expectations and goals will be reviewed. 5th Grade Band : Basic technique will be reviewed by those who have had at least one year of Band instruction. Students will be measured for the correct size string instrument, a note will be sent home to parents regarding the correct size instrument to be obtained and information regarding the option of either renting a school instrument or obtaining one from a private source.
